Global Warming Alarmists Taking A Beating

“Think they’re still buying it?”

As the hole ridden vessel that is man-made warming alarmism continues to sink, former alarmists and those they’ve misled dive for safety. We’ve seen it for as long as we’ve seen the “experts” called to account for their often skewed and in some cases out right misleading findings. The past couple of weeks has been no exception and may in fact have signaled the final warning to abandon ship or be lost forever in the sea of discredit.

In the first week of April there was the NASA letter. Sent to NASA Administrator Charles Bolden Jr and signed by 49 former NASA employees, this letter was a desperate plea from the former employees for GISS and NASA to return to their historic standards of, “making an objective assessment of all available scientific data prior to making decisions or public statements.” The letter goes on to make a scathing indictment of the current practices of NASA and GISS, referring to remarks made in press releases and web sites as “unproven and unsupported”. Then there was the outspoken environmental scientist and author James Lovelock. He disclosed this week that his claims regarding climate change had been “alarmist”. Lovelock said, “I made a mistake” and admits that his own environmental predictions as well as those of Al Gore and other Eco-disaster peddlers are guilty of exaggerating the facts. Lovelock went on to say, “The problem is we don’t know what the climate is doing. We thought we knew 20 years ago. That led to some alarmist books – mine included – because it looked clear cut, but it hasn’t happened.” Stunningly, in his admission of his former alarmism he reveals the intent that most of us have known has always been the heart of the movement, that of greed. He says of his books, “I would be a little more cautious – but then that would have spoilt the book“.

And just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse for the alarmist crowd, yesterday we were treated with video of Region 6 EPA Manager Al Armendariz articulating his views toward oil companies and all those on whom the Jedi mind trick of “The Science Is Settled” is having no effect. Armendariz takes an interesting approach in describing his beliefs when he likens his plight to that of ancient Roman soldiers who controlled the masses by rolling into Turkish villages and “crucifying” the first few inhabitants they would encounter.

The following video is a brutally honest admission of the mindset behind the man made warming alarmism. This is EPA Region 6 Manager Al Armendariz explaining how he rolls.

The interesting thing about this video is the fact that Armendariz has since issued an apology stating that his choice of words was inappropriate. However, if you watch the video he tells the crowd that this is at least the second time he’s used his illustration.

Letter To NASA

The following letter was sent to NASA Administrator Charles Bolden, Jr. from 49 former employees with over 1100 years of combined service to NASA.

Dear Charlie,

We, the undersigned, respectfully request that NASA and the Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) refrain from including unproven remarks in public releases and websites. We believe the claims by NASA and GISS, that man-made carbon dioxide is having a catastrophic impact on global climate change are not substantiated, especially when considering thousands of years of empirical data. With hundreds of well-known climate scientists and tens of thousands of other scientists publicly declaring their disbelief in the catastrophic forecasts, coming particularly from the GISS leadership, it is clear that the science is NOT settled.

The unbridled advocacy of CO2 being the major cause of climate change is unbecoming of NASA’s history of making an objective assessment of all available scientific data prior to making decisions or public statements.

As former NASA employees, we feel that NASA’s advocacy of an extreme position, prior to a thorough study of the possible overwhelming impact of natural climate drivers is inappropriate. We request that NASA refrain from including unproven and unsupported remarks in its future releases and websites on this subject. At risk is damage to the exemplary reputation of NASA, NASA’s current or former scientists and employees, and even the reputation of science itself.
